Who are we?

The current Illumbe Accordion Orchestra was founded in 1985 after earlier attempts to establish itself as the formation that we know today. From the beginning, the group has been conducted by Jose Juan Zubillaga. Nowadays, it is composed by 15 components, whose average age is 30 years. Much of its members are already accordion professionals and others are going to become in the near future.

Illumbe Orchestra has played numerous concerts around the country getting a warm reception from the public. This Orchestra has a wide and varied repertoire. More than two hundred music works of different styles and composers complete it: Handel, Haydn, JS Bach, Strauss and authors who wrote works exclusively for accordion Orchestra like Bui, Mohr, Luck or Aragües.
